Ideologically populist, Peronism is largely a variant of labor and left-leaning Argentine factions swinging to a Latin American form of fascism. Stemming from the ideas and legacy of Juan Perón, since 1946, Peronists have won 10 out of the 14 presidential elections. Divided in leftists and rightists, they often fought against each other. But Argentina still languishing after 80 years of Peronism, and economic atrophy, ultimately rejected the grip of its obsession.
